6th Graders,
Congrats. You made it through your first quarter of middle school. I have that you have found it pretty eventful. You have learned a ton and there is still a ton more to learn.

GRADES
I fell a little behind on grading this quarter. I am going to spend this afternoon getting all of my grades caught up in Pinnacle. Check back later this afternoon and the grade that you see in Pinnacle will be pretty accurate to the grade you will receive for the quarter (minus extra credit and make up assignments which I will add on Monday). Anyway, please email me if you have questions at all regarding your grades.
WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
Tuesday starts the first week of Line Dance. Line Dance is a super fun unit and you will be doing it with all 6th grade classes. Every 6th grader will be in the unit at the same time. Each of the 6 dances you will be responsible for have instructional videos on my website. Please watch the videos and practice at home. You will do so much better in the unit if you can see what the dances look like and practice them. For some of you, the dances will be pretty easy and for others, the dances will be a bit tough. WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
Tomorrow, Monday, we will be doing the Mile Run. This is actually only your second Mile Run of the year and your first official one to graph. I am hoping that most of you put up good times.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
I am not sure if there will be a fitness activity this week or not.
IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
No, nothing is assigned this week. As soon as I finish uploading all of the Tinikling videos, you will be assigned a Tinikling Reflection assignment. Part of the assignment will require that you watch your Tinikling performance and critique it. Your class will receive a class specific password which you will have to use to see your videos. One week after the assignment, the passwords will change.

EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
I have an extra credit page that has various types of assignments that you can choose from. These assignments change all the time. To check out the Extra Credit Page, click HERE. Reminder, I WILL NOT accept any extra credit if you have not completed all mandatory assignments in class (runs, written work, fitness days, unit stuff, etc.)
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK (AOW)
With almost 1300 students at CMS, there are a ton of students with all types of Food Allergies. Food Allergies is an issue that effects most families, for most families have at least one person that has some type of a food allergy, whether mild or more severe. This is a great article educating you on what Food Allergies are, the types of reactions you may get, whether you have one or not and a lot more. Please take a few minutes and read through this.
