6th Graders,
Congratulations on making it through your 1st 3 weeks at Cupertino Middle School.  I hope that you are finding other students at the school helpful and nice.  I know that the transition to Middle School can seem overwhelming, but, give it another week or two and you feel right at home.  Anyway, please read through this entire Blog and get used to the information that it provides.

WEEKLY RECAP & WEEK AT A GLANCE
Last week was our first week together as a class.  Tuesday we basically had to get the Sportfolio handouts in your folder and I needed to check everybody off and make sure you had your work.  Wed/Thurs was PE 101- Sportsmanship Education and a Cooperative Activity, Human Knot.  Friday was the PE Mile Run.  To check out what we did and what we have planned, go to your class CALENDAR.

WEATHER
Believe it or not, there is a chance of rain tomorrow, please prepare. Also, it is a bit cooler this upcoming week.  Check the weekly weather HERE.

WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
We will be spending the next couple of weeks in Cooperative Activities and PE 101.  In the first few weeks of school we go through a lot of different activities that range from PE 101 lessons to Cooperative Activities and classroom procedures.  If you want to see what Units you will be doing for the year, click HERE.

WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
The way that the run days will work this year is that every other Monday is going to be an official run day.  Run days are a variety of different distances and challenges.  Some runs are individual and other runs are partner or team runs.  I try to do my best to vary the runs so that you get a variety.  Some of the runs you will really like and others you will not like very much.  The runs are designed to keep you moving for a long period of time and improve your Cardiovascular Fitness.  If you want to read about the different types of runs you may do, click HERE.

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
Every other Monday will be an official Fitness Day. Fitness days will either be done in the Gym, Multi-Use Room, Outside or Rock Wall area.  I LOVE my fitness days and will typically design different types of circuits or challenges.  Be prepared to work hard on Fitness Days and be exposed to a lot of different things.  There are so many different variations of exercises that can be done on Fitness Days.
