Hey 6th Graders, Welcome to Mr. Sickler's Class

6th Graders,

I want to welcome you to my physical education class.  I have a great year planned for you with lots of fun activities, running, fitness and written work- all preparing you to be excited about physical activity so that you all end up living a healthy, active lifestyle.

I hope that you have had a fantastic summer.  I am sure that many of you were lucky enough to leave the area if not the state and/or country.  Regardless, I hope that you got plenty of family time and rest so that are focused on your transition to Middle School.  You are so lucky to be attending Cupertino Middle School, for the culture here is fantastic.  We have great teachers, great administrators and most importantly a great PE staff.

Just a few quick reminders:
1.  Please read through my Class Contract that was handed to you on the first day.
2.  Please check out my "Using my Website" video if you have not done so yet.  Click HERE to see the 6 minute video.
3.  Please get a 1 inch, clear binder (any color) and go to this Sportfolio Assignment Link on my website.  This assignment tells you how to set up your folder so that you are ready to go on the first day that I see you officially on Tuesday, August 28th.

**I am selling the exact binders that you are required to have for $3.00 in the boys locker room or I have some recycled folders from last year, some in good condition and some in shaky condition that I am giving away for free.  Please don't go and by a binder at a store b/c I am selling them cheaper.

4.  Go to this LINK and take a Pre-Assessment.  Please don't worry about getting the answer right, just do your best.  If you know it, you know it, if you don't, that is ok.  DO YOUR BEST!!!
5.  Fill out these two quick surveys:  Student Tech Survey & Student Information Survey.
5.  If you want to know a little bit more about me, check out my BIO and see what you think.  I may ask you a few questions about me to see who actually checked it out.

Anyway, get these tasks done (they are also on your welcome letter) and you will be off to a great start.  I am looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of you better this year.  Go Bears!!!
