6th Graders,
WEEKLY RECAP & WEEK AT A GLANCE
2 weeks left of the 3rd quarter and then we are on our final lap of the year. This past week was hit by rain and caused a major shift in the schedule. Monday and Thursday were High Jump. Tuesday was Dodgeball due to the rain. Wednesday we had P90x in the Multi-Use and Friday was Scooter Basketball in the gym. We got a lot done despite all the rain.

Write me a short paragraph explaining your favorite fitness activity this year and why? It does not have to be long, just a few sentences explaining why. Include name, period and roll call. This can not be turned in past Tuesday.
MILE & 2 MILE MAKE-UP RUN
I am not sure when the next make-up run after school will be. We will not have any more this quarter.
We are in the final week of Track and Field. This week, I am hoping we get one day of Shot Put and one day of Discus. I recommend that you click the link and watch the videos on how to do these.
EYO INFORMATION
I will have your final project graded by the end of this week/beginning of next week. I want to thank and congratulate all of you who turned in the project and did well along the way. Nice job.WHAT UNIT IS COMING UP NEXT?

Our next unit is going to be a Throwing Manipulative Skills Unit. We will focus on Overhand, Underhand and Sidearm Throwing. Included in this unit will be catching as well. To check out more about Manipulative Skills, click HERE.

Most likely, you will have another 2 mile run on Thursday. Be prepared.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
We will be in the Multi-Use room, however, if the weather is nice, I may do a fitness activity outdoors. I am not sure what I will want to do yet.
IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, your EYO Segment #3 is due on Friday. When you turn in Segment #3, please make sure that you include Segment #1 and #2 as well inside your booklet.

Since we are still in the 3rd quarter and this quarter has been all about Nutrition, here is one final article that you might like. If you are interested in cooking or have parents/family members that like to cook, have them try some of these recipes in this ARTICLE. Hope you enjoy it.
DID YOU KNOW (DYK)
Your brain is much more active at night than during the day. You would think that all the things and interactions that you have throughout the day would keep the brain busier that when laying in bed, however, the opposite is true. Pretty interesting to think that the brain works so hard when your body is doing very little work.

I have a 2 questions... Wasn't Segment 3 the one we turned in last Friday? and were we supposed to get our study guides on Friday as the test is on Wednesday?
