6th Graders,
WEEKLY RECAP & WEEK AT A GLANCE
Last week we finished up Track and Field. Tuesday was Shot Put and Wednesday was Discus. Thursday was the mile relay with Mr. Lenneman's class and Friday was the 2 mile run. By the way, it is unbelievable how many of you improved your 2 mile time and in fact, improved my minutes over your first 2 mile run of the year.

MILE & 2 MILE MAKE-UP RUN
There will be a Make-Up run during class this week, probably on Wednesday.
We start Overhand/Underhand/Sidearm Throwing and Catching this week. These are aspects of Manipulative Skills that are required in the 6th Grade Standards. Check out the Manipulative Skills page HERE.
EYO INFORMATION
There was a final exam scheduled for last week and many of you asked if when the test was going to be. I have good news, there is not going to be an official EYO Final Exam until next year. However, the 6th grade PE teachers have put together an assessment that you will more than likely be taking next week. Don't stress over it. Just do your best to try and remember key aspects of the EYO like major nutrients, portion sizes, etc.WHAT UNIT IS COMING UP NEXT?

To finish the year, the last real unit you will do is Tumbling. For many of you, this will be a difficult unit. Please go to the Tumbling page and check out what you will be required to learn.
WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
The run this week is an extra credit/make-up run. I will explain it the day of the run. More than likely either Wednesday or Thursday.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
On Friday, we will be doing a PE 101 Fitness Circuit where you will need to record HR and identify Fitness Components. I will go over it in more detail on Friday.

ARTICLE OF THE WEEK (AOW)
Your new AOWs are going to focus on Exercise, Motivation and Getting Prepared for the Summer. Most of you this year have really improved your fitness base and should work hard this summer to maintain your fitness level. Here is a good article about Motivation. Read it, it is pretty good.
DID YOU KNOW (DYK)
Did you know that the human body is estimated to have 60,000 miles of blood vessels. For some perspective, the distance around the Earth is 25,000 miles, which means that you could wrap your vessels around the Earth over 2 times. Crazy.
