WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
This week, we are focusing on PE 101. Please print out your packet and put in tab #2. You need it for Monday.
WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
We will be doing the Variety Run this week. The Variety Run is a team run that totals 1.5 miles. To read more about this run, go to this link.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
Because you have Friday off, I am changing our fitness activity this week. Our fitness day will be Thursday. It is going to be a Rock Wall Circuit. You will learn more on Thursday.
Our original lesson, which will be next week, will be this fitness lesson:
We have a 2 day Fitness Activity starting on Thursday this week. We will be doing a lesson on exercise intensity which looks at how your Heart Rate (HR) reacts to exercise. My dog's name is Oski. You will learn how to take pulse and then learn why knowing your pulse rate is important during exercise. You will be using your PE 101 packet for this lesson. To know more about the importance of monitoring your heart rate and give you a little background for this lesson, read this article.

IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, you have to go to the PE 101 Page, find the 6th Grade Downloads section, and print out the PE 101 Packet. The packet is about 15 pages. Oski is the Cal Berkeley Mascot. The packet will be ready tonight or tomorrow morning. I encourage you to print back to back. You will need this packet on Monday, 9/13 for our first PE 101 lesson.
ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK?
Yes, there are 2 assignments due this week.
1. You need your PE 101 Packet for Monday's lesson. I will be checking to make sure that everyone has their packet.
2. You need to look up your BMI at this website and then write the number on Page 11 in your Sportfolio.
