6th Graders,
Tuesday- Cooperative Activity
Wednesday-Run Day (see below)
Thursday- "Perfect Push-up"
Friday- Fitness Testing
WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
We are still in Cooperative Games and PE 101. In fact, we will be doing a lot more PE 101 because you will be printing out the packet this week (see below).
WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
On Wednesday, you will be running the PACER. I want to get a good baseline of where your fitness is and what types of improvement we are looking for. Give your best effort. The weather is predicted to be in the low 80's. Be sure you bring a water bottle to school and hydrate. My favorite color is Yellow. In case you were curious, I did the research last year and found that 80 pacer laps = mile, therefore, 20 laps = .25 miles. That should help when you come up with your goal. Please do your best. You will need to fill out your Pacer Graph, Quarter Run Log and e-Run Log. Descriptions of all my runs can be found at this link.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
Our Fitness Activity this week is broken into two days. We will be doing the lesson called, "Perfect Push-up" to ensure that everybody knows how to perform a push-up with the correct form. Look at Page 10 in your Sportfolio Handouts ahead of time to get an idea on what you will be doing. Also, we will be watching this video in class when I explain how to do a proper push-up, check it out.
DID YOU FILL OUT YOUR E-LOGS?
If not, click here for your e-run log and here for your e-fitness log.
IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, you have to go to the PE 101 Page, find the 6th Grade Downloads section, and print out the PE 101 Packet. The packet is about 15 pages. The packet will be ready tonight or tomorrow morning. I encourage you to print back to back. You will need this packet on Monday, 9/13 for our first PE 101 lesson.
ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK?
Yes, you need to review Page 10 in your Sportfolio Handouts and watch this YouTube video.
