Week of 4/1/13 - 4/5/13 (4th Quarter -Week 1)


6th Graders,
It is finally here, the last quarter (last 9 weeks) of the school year.  Can you believe how fast this year has flown by.  Amazing.  Anyway, congrats on making it through 3rd quarter.  Let's finish this school year strong.

I embedded new form at the very end of this blog.  Please fill it out and submit to let me know that you read the blog.  These will eventually lead to some extra credit.

We are in a Soccer Manipulative Skills Unit..

WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
We don't have a run scheduled this week.  You may have on on Friday.  I am going to be out a full day on Thursday and half day on Friday.  I am not sure exactly what my sub plans are going to be yet.  Stay tuned.....        

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
I am going to plan to have a fitness day on the Block Period.  Probably something outside.  Be prepared for some fitness fun.

IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
No, there is not homework this week except for you to keep working on your EYO project Segment 1 which is due on April 9th.  Keep working on it.  

ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK
No, nothing is due this week.  

EYO PROJECT 
Hopefully you are chipping away and Segment 1.  Remember, Segment 1 is a total of 4 lessons: Pre Assessment, Lesson 1, Lesson 2 and Lesson 3.  Everything you need about this project can be found on the EYO Project Page, including all of the videos that go with each lesson.  Also, I made a new ScreenCast on "how to complete an EYO Lesson", check it out HERE.  

EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
For any extra credit assignments that you would like to do, please go to the extra credit page.  There are little, medium and large assignments that you can choose from.

FIT IN 15 HOME WORKOUT VIDEO SERIES
I just started producing new workout videos called, "Fit In 15" which are 15 minute bodyweight, home workout videos.  I am excited b/c these videos will have creative exercises and the workouts don't take very long.  Please subscribe to my YouTube channel and look for the newest Fit In 15 videos to be posted.  I am uploading Fit In 15 #2 to my YouTube site sometime today.  Please Subscribe and do these workouts at home:

Extra Credit:  Do one of these Fit In 15 workouts.  While you are working out, keep track of the # of reps you do for each of the exercises.  Afterwards, do a one page write up explaining the following:
What were the names of the exercises?
How many reps did you do each round for the exercises?
What Level did you choose (1, 2 or 3)?
Where did you do the workout?  Living room, bedroom, garage, park, etc.?
Short paragraph explaining how the workout was for you?  difficulty, hardest exercise, easiest exercise, if you modified and why, etc.?
