6th Graders,
Our last week, YAH!!!! till we have a much needed February Break. Are any of you going anywhere? Where? I want to hear all about it. I am will be escaping for a couple of days near the Napa area. I am excited to have some family time.

WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
Friday will be the finish of our Jump Rope Unit. I am hoping to do the super fun double dutch, long rope, small group stuff, but, if I don't get a chance to do it this time around I will when I have the gym again.

NEXT UNIT- TRACK & FIELD
I am in the process of putting together a Track & Field Screencast in order to introduce you to the unit. However, I do have a good web page that I made for Track and Field. We will start the Monday that we get back from break. Check it the Track and Field page here. It is definitely one of the favorite units of the year. If you have a chance, click on this PAGE to check out some Youtube Videos of the events that you will be doing. Which events look like your favorites? Which ones do you think you will be good at? Anyway, it is a super fun unit and seems to have events for everybody. Check out the T & F page.

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
Bear Fitness Challenge on Monday for 1, 3, 5, and 7th Periods and for 2nd and 6th period on Wednesday (1st half of period). Make sure that you have your Sportfolios and your BFC score sheet with you. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT FORGET OR LOSE IT.
IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
No, nothing is assigned, but, you do have your PE 101 Packets to work on. (see below)
ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK
Yes, for 2nd and 6th Period, your PE 101 Packets are due on Tuesday and for the odd periods, your Packet is due on Thursday. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TURN IT IN. If you are missing any pages and/or want to redo a page b/c yours is sloppy, you can download the pages or the packet HERE. Also, if you click HERE you will find most of the presentations and some screen casts for each of the PE 101 lessons. Please email or stop by and see me if you have any questions.
EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
For any extra credit assignments that you would like to do, please go to the extra credit page. There are little, medium and large assignments that you can choose from.

You hear a lot about Sports Supplements and stuff that athletes take, both legal and illegal, to help them do better in their athletic performance. Read this article and see what it is all about.
