Week of 12/3/12-12/7/12 (2nd Quarter -Week 6)

6th Graders,

What a strange week last week was between me being out 2 days and the rain.  Thanks for being patient and doing so well.  By the looks the this week's forecast, it is going to be another strange week and there is a chance for 2-3 days of rain.

We are in our second week of the Manipulative Skill of throwing.  However, because of the rain forecast, the schedule this week could be a jumbled.  To see what is planned for this new unit go to the class  CALENDAR.

TINIKLING ALL STAR VOTING

I posted 6  "All Star" dances, one from each period.  These were the performances that I thought best represented all of the qualities that make up a great overall performance.  Here is what you need to do, you need to watch all 6 performances and decided which one you thought was the best and then cast a vote.  You CAN NOT vote for your own period, you MUST vote for a performance from another period.  

Click HERE and then scroll the very bottom of the page to where it says "All Stars".  Type in the password, sickfit_allstar to watch each of the videos.  After you watch them, cast your vote HERE.  

If you cast a vote, you will receive 2 extra credit points.  The class that casts the most votes (it has to be more than 50% of the class) will all receive extra credit and the team the wins the most votes will get a Jamba Juice Party.  CAST YOUR VOTES!!!!

WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?

After two straight dancing units, we are not shifting gears and starting a unit called, "Manipulative Skills- Throwing."  Mr. Salles, my student teacher, made this awesome Screen Cast video introducing Throwing.  Please check out his video HERE.  You need to watch it.

I am not sure what run we will have this week, it really depends on the weather.

Monday is our fitness day and I am planning to do a heart rate lesson, which is one of our last PE lessons left.
