WEEK RECAP.....
I hope that you enjoyed your 3 day weekend and were able to get outside and be active. Last week was a strange week because Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were all Spare the Air days. On Monday, we did the PE 101 lesson called "The 5 Fitness Components." If you missed this lesson on Monday, you need to come and see me. YOu will have some homework to do. On Tuesday, we did Blindfold Challenges. On Wednesday, we did p90X in the Multi Use room with Mr. Kwas's class. On Thursday, we did a lesson using Pedometers called "Guess The Steps" which we will continue on Monday.

We are in a Cooperative Games/Team Building Unit right now with some Bear Challenge and PE 101 sprinkled in. To look at the units for the year, click HERE. This list is tentative and may change several times throughout the year. Please check out this PE 101 Page to find out more about what PE 101 is and what topics you will be learning about throughout the school year.
WHAT UNIT IS COMING UP NEXT?
I have officially decided that your next unit is going to be Jump Rope. This is a skill that you will be using throughout middle and high school and, it is a lifelong skill, therefore, I feel it is very important that you learn not only how to Jump Rope, but, the fitness benefits that it provides. To check out your Jump Rope Page, click HERE. If you have a chance, start to watch the Jump Rope Skill videos that you can click on from this page. Practice these skills. I will have a handout to give you regarding your Jump Rope unit. Please DO NOT print anything out yet from this page, I need to change the handouts.
WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
We will be doing the Interval Partner Pacer Run on Wednesday this week. It is a timed team run. To read about the Interval Partner Pacer, click HERE.
WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?

Wow, that was some good sportsmanship there!, considering that Josh Ripley was the only person who bothered to notice that Mark Paulauskas was injured and carried Mark half a mile to his coach. Hats off to Josh!
ReplyDeletethat was very good sportsmanship. he gave up a big moment of his life to help someone else

That was really good sportsmanship. Even though he knew that he wouldnt be able to finish at such a good mile time, he still stood up and helped Mark to his coach. Still going back and finishing the race.

Wow! I would of ran past Mark, and even if I did, he would probably be too heavy for me to carry a half mile...Kudos to Josh!

I feel happy for Josh and his outstanding sportsmanship. No one noticed Mark, but Josh did! Josh helped him and after that, finished the run. He had a good heart ( and all the sportsmanship traits ) FOR EVERYONE ELSE: REMEMBER TO ADD YOUR ROLL CALL NUMBER TO YOUR COMMENT! :-)

Josh showed a lot of the good sportsmanship at the cross country meet. He helped Mark out a lot by carrying him all the way back to the coaches. He also persevered a lot by finishing the course. I feel bad for Mark, but good job to Josh!

I can't believe he finished the race after running half a mile carrying someone almost as heavy as him! He was helping his opponent.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Josh. You showed great sportsmanship by helping Mark. You won the race in a better way than any other. Good job!

I think Josh really showed good sportsmanship. He stopped his race because he cared for another racer. This reminds me of another video which you told us to watch. A girl fell down, and 2 girls from the opposing team asked if they could carry her. Both of these are examples of outstanding sportsmanship.

That was good sportsmanship by Josh. He didn't care about the race but went to help another runner. He won the race in sportsmanship. What I can't believe is Josh also finished the race
