Week of 5/9/11-5/13/11 (4Q- Week 6)

6th Graders,

WEEK RECAP.....
We spent the week working on Softball skills, primarily throwing, catching, fly balls and grounders. We will continue with skills this week.

NEW GRADING CATEGORIES & GRADES UPDATE
I have updated Pinnacle to reflect your most current grades EXCEPT your Juggling Homework which I have not graded yet. Also, if you click HERE, you can see the new grading categories for the 4th quarter.

COMMENT ON MY BLOG FOR EXTRA CREDIT....
From now on, overtime that you comment on my weekly blog, you will receive 2 extra credit points. Basically, when you comment, you just say that you read the blog. Include name, period and roll call. To comment, you click the comment section at the end of the blog as an "Anonymous" user. When you comment, I will receive an email and then you will get the credit in Pinnacle.

WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
We are in a our final week of softball skills.

WHAT UNIT IS COMING UP NEXT?
Next week we will start Tumbling with Mr. Kwas's class in the multi-use room. Please review my Tumbling page, watch the videos and prepare for the unit.

WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
Thursday is going to be our final 2 mile run of the year. This run CAN NOT be waived because it will be used in a fitness testing assignment you will have.

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
We will be doing fitness testing this week as your fitness day. You will have your bleacher step, jump rope, push-up, abs, wall sit, pull-up, etc. testing. This might take 2 days.

IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, you have HW #1 for the 4th Quarter. It is a Juggling Reflection Assignment. This is due on Monday, 5/16.

ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK
No, nothing is due this week.
