Week of 3/21/11-3/25/11 (3Q- Week 9)

6th Graders,

Hard to believe but this is your final week of the 3Q. One more final push to the end of the school year.

WEEK RECAP.....
This week was short and had a couple of rainy days on top of that. There was no school on Monday and I was out on Friday. On Tuesday, we learned Triple Jump and did a lot of Triple Jump practice from a stationary to a 7 step approach. Wednesday was a rainy day schedule. Thursday, I filmed each student performing a triple jump in the pit. On Friday, I was out and assume that there was a rainy day schedule.

From now on, overtime that you comment on my weekly blog, you will receive 2 extra credit points. Basically, when you comment, you just say that you read the blog. Include name, period and roll call. WHAT UNIT ARE WE IN?
We are in our our final week of Track and Field. Check out the google calendar to see what events we will do this week. I made a pretty comprehensive Track and Field page, check it out HERE.

WHAT UNIT IS COMING UP NEXT?
The next unit will be Juggling in the gym. Please checkout this Juggling Page and print out the packet for class. This packet is due on Tuesday, March 29th. I will check to make sure that all students have this packet. YOu also have a homework assignment related to Juggling. It is described below.

WHAT IS OUR RUN THIS WEEK?
We do not have a scheduled run. Friday is an "Open" day. Not sure what I will do with it yet.

WHAT FITNESS ACTIVITY ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
Because Friday is an "Open" day, we may have a fitness day.

IS HOMEWORK ASSIGNED THIS WEEK?
Yes, 2 new homework assignments have been assigned this week, HW#5 and 6. HW #5 is preparing you for the Juggling Unit and requiring that you watch some videos and practice at home then answer a few questions. HW #6 is printing out the Juggling Packet. Both of these assignments are due on Tuesday, March 29th.

ARE THERE ANY ASSIGNMENTS DUE THIS WEEK
Yes, your WOW Assignment is due on Friday, March 25th. You can find your WOW Assignment on the WOW Page.
I have all kinds of Extra Credit available in my class. Check out the Extra Credit page to check them out.....
