Week of 2/14/11-2/18/11 (3Q- Week 5)

6th Graders,

I promise that I will have grades updated by the end of this weekend. I am setting aside about 3 hours to update Pinnacle today and tomorrow.

WEEK RECAP.....
On Monday and Tuesday, we did a PE 101 lab in the Rock Wall by performing a 20 station fitness circuit while calculating heart rate, identifying fitness components, and muscles. On Wednesday, we debriefed the circuit and watched clips from online tutorial videos on how to fill out PE 101 worksheets, pages 17 and 18 and which are due on Monday. On Thursday, we did the 2 mile run which will be used as the fitness testing 2 mile. On Friday, all classes (except 7th period), played a game called Goules and Gobblins which is very similar to Capture the Flag.

7th Period, thanks for being patient and allowing me to re-film the hand dribbling lesson for my National Board Certification. I will make it up to you, promise.

ARTICLE OF THE WEEK (AOW)
To continue with our theme of nutrition and working to maintain a healthy weight, this is a good article on ways to help increase your metabolism which is essentially your body's ability to break down food and process it. The better your metabolism, the more calories you will burn while at rest. You should read these articles and ask yourself, Do I agree with this or not? I have a good extra credit assignment related to your AOW, check it out HERE.

DID YOU KNOW (DYK)
Did you know:
The human eye can detect over 10,000,000 different colors. Pretty crazy.
