Week of 4/28/14-5/2/13 (4th Quarter Week 3)

Hey 6th Graders-

I had my daughter's big birthday party yeaterday. Been a really busy weekend. I am heading to another birthday party so I don't have time to write out a big blog post.

A few reminders- SEGMENT 2 of EYO is due on the block period this week. Don't PROCRASTINATE, you have to do a detailed 3 day food log. Keep a good record of what you are eating.

I am pretty sure you will have either partner pacer or Cariety a fun this week for your run. For your unit and fitness days, we will be doing a HR and RPE circuit this week.

Have a great weekend and I will see you in Monday.

Week of 4/21/24/14-4/25/13 (4th Quarter Week 2)

6th Graders,

I hope that you had a great Spring Break.  I was super, super busy and am ready to get back in class and teach.  I really do miss teaching when I am away from it too long.

I am busy with family stuff (for Easter) today so I am going to work on mapping out our new unit later today.  Therefore, I am not sending out a formal blog.

I am going to be out on Thursday and Friday this week because of training.  So you will have a run day on Friday and probably and outdoor fitness circuit on Wed and Thursday.  We are scheduled for the weight room in our next unit.  It is not the largest space and there are some challenges, but, I will think through how the unit will look.  I am going to call it PE 101 because I want to use this unit as a way to reinforce key concepts that we have learned throughout the year.

Anyway, enjoy your day and you DO NOT have to fill out a blog form for this.

Oh yeah, remember, your EYO Segment #2 is going to be due on 4/30 and 5/1.  You still have some time.  You are required to keep a 3 Day Food Log, so don't do this lesson at the last minute.  I highly recommend that if you have not kept a food log yet, that you remember to do it this week at school.

I'll see you tomorrow.  Happy Easter and have a great day with family and friends.

Mr. Sickler

We are atarting a new unit tomorrow as well. I am still working in piecing it together. I am scheduled for the weight room, however we will be doing a lot of different stuff.

Finally, our run this week is going to be relays, both 4x100 and 4x400. I am going to have a sub on Thursday.

Have a great Sunday.

YOUR WORD OF THE WEEK (WOW)
What is Word of the Week (WOW)?  Word of the week is a word that I post on the WOW page on my website.  If you click on the word, it takes you to a definition of that word.  You will receive 4-6 words/quarter.  At the end of each quarter, you will use each of these words in a paragraph.  You WILL NOT use each word in a paragraph, but, only write ONE paragraph using all of the words.  This assignment is restricted to ONE paragraph only.  The goal is to not literally DEFINE the words, but, rather, use them in context in a paragraph in a creative story demonstrating to me that you know what the word means without telling me what the word means.

You WILL NOT have a WOW paragraph assignment in the 2nd quarter.  My goal is to have you do it for the 3rd quarter.  I'll announce it if you do.

FILL OUT THIS FORM PLEASE TO LET ME KNOW THAT YOU READ THE BLOG!!!
